We're Not Just Your Design Studio. We're Your Neighbors.
Hi, we're Abby and Anthony Young-Wiseman — and the Outer Banks isn't just where we do business. It's where we live, invest, and build.
We are residents of Corolla. We've spent weekends driving up and down this coast, walking through properties, imagining what they could be. We've personally managed renovations, made every design decision from cabinet hardware to flooring finishes, and felt that particular satisfaction when a space finally comes together exactly the way you pictured it. That experience didn't just give us an eye for design — it gave us a deep appreciation for what it actually takes to get a renovation right.
Abby brings 15+ years of financial and operational leadership to the business, having served as CFO of a national franchise company and worked with dozens of small businesses across the country. She's built teams, managed budgets, and kept complex projects on track. At The Designery Outer Banks, that means your project stays on budget, on schedule, and on brand — from the first consultation to the final install.
Anthony's background is in building relationships. He spent a decade in enterprise sales, working with some of the most demanding clients in the country. But before that, he was playing Division I football at Duke University on a full athletic scholarship — part of the first Blue Devils team to earn back-to-back Bowl appearances. That experience shaped who he is: someone who shows up, puts in the work, and knows how to operate as part of a team. On the Outer Banks, that means he's out in the community — talking to builders, connecting with contractors, and making sure our B2B partners get the responsiveness and reliability they need to keep their projects moving.
Together, we bring the financial discipline to keep your project on budget, the design passion to make it beautiful, and the personal commitment to make sure you actually enjoy the process.
Why We Chose The Designery
We looked at a lot of options before opening our doors. What drew us to The Designery was simple: it's built for the way people actually renovate today. Technology that lets you see your space before anything is ordered. A product line built on quality — all-plywood cabinet construction, premium countertops, and curated flooring that holds up in real coastal conditions. And a national network that gives us access to pricing and products that an independent showroom simply can't match.
We're backed by HomeFront Brands and a network of 70+ Designery locations that have already worked out the kinks, figured out what works, and built a reputation for delivering. You get the best of both worlds: the trust and systems of a national brand with owners who actually know your neighborhood.
What to Expect Working With Us
One point of contact. From your first consultation through your final walkthrough, you'll work with us directly — not a rotating cast of salespeople or a call center.
Transparent pricing. You'll know what things cost before anything is ordered. No surprises, no change orders you didn't see coming.
3D visualization. Before we order a single cabinet, we'll show you exactly what your finished space will look like. You'll be able to see the layout, the finishes, and the details — and make changes before anything is locked in.
Full-service from design through installation. We handle everything: design, product selection, delivery, and installation through our vetted contractor network. One project. One invoice.
We understand this market in a way that most designers don't — because we're in it.
We know that a lot of our clients don't live here full-time. They're making renovation decisions remotely, managing timelines from Richmond or DC, and trusting someone to execute their vision without them looking over their shoulder. We know how important communication is when you can't just pop by to check on things.
We know that kitchens and bathrooms on the Outer Banks need to work harder than anywhere else — standing up to salt air, high humidity, heavy rental traffic, and the constant wear of a home that's in use almost every weekend of the summer.
And we know that a well-designed space isn't just beautiful. On the OBX, it's an investment that directly affects your rental income, your property value, and how guests feel the moment they walk through the door.
