Modern Sage Green Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen design offers a refreshing look while maintaining it's original layout. The general configuration remained familiar, but there were several opportunities to make the room more functional, intentional, and reflective of the homeowners' current style. The Designery Greensboro recognized that thoughtful changes could make the kitchen easier and more enjoyable to use. The renovation focused on making the existing footprint work harder without making the space feel crowded.

One beautiful and intentional design decision was taking the cabinetry all the way to the ceiling, which immediately gives the kitchen a taller, more finished appearance while creating additional storage. The wall surrounding the refrigerator was also reworked to incorporate pantry storage and a new bar area, with wall pantries positioned on either side of the refrigerator. These additions give previously underutilized areas a clear purpose and make the kitchen feel more complete. New LVP flooring was selected to coordinate with the home's existing hardwood, helping the updated kitchen feel connected to the surrounding spaces.

The color palette brings a subtle sense of warmth and personality to the renovation. A countertop with a soft, green hue ties beautifully into the cabinetry, creating continuity across the room without relying on a bold contrast. One of the design team's favorite tile families was selected for the backsplash, offering the familiar appeal of a classic subway-inspired shape while incorporating an organic flare and a vertical layout – giving the classic look a little more character. Rose gold hardware and upgraded fixtures add another layer of warmth, while updated outlets provide small but meaningful improvements that work quietly in the background.

For owner Steven, the countertop was one of the favorite elements of the finished design because of the way it brings the entire palette together. But some of the most meaningful improvements are the details that aren't immediately obvious—the upgraded fixtures, better storage, and functional touches that make the kitchen easier to use every day. The result is a space that feels more polished and current without losing its connection to the home. It is a thoughtful example of how relatively targeted changes can make a familiar kitchen feel completely refreshed.
