The Heart Behind The Designery Baton Rouge
Hi, I’m Mattie Pourciau Garza, owner of The Designery Baton Rouge.
Helping people has always been at the heart of everything I do. After years in executive leadership, returning home to Louisiana gave me the opportunity to combine two of my greatest passions—helping people and creating beautiful, thoughtfully designed spaces. Opening The Designery Baton Rouge has allowed me to serve my community while doing work that I truly love.
I believe remodeling should be an exciting and enjoyable experience, not an overwhelming one. My role is to listen carefully, understand your vision, and guide you through every step of the design process with honesty, creativity, and attention to detail.
As a Baton Rouge native, I’m continually inspired by our state’s rich architectural heritage, timeless Southern homes, and the warmth and hospitality that make every home unique. I have a special appreciation for Acadian-inspired design, blending classic elegance with modern functionality to create spaces that are beautiful, welcoming, and designed for everyday living.
Whether your style is traditional, transitional, or contemporary, my goal is always the same—to create spaces that reflect your family’s lifestyle and become the backdrop for life’s most meaningful moments. Nothing is more rewarding than handing a client the keys to a home they can’t wait to come back to each day.
Outside the studio, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two daughters, and our Goldendoodle, Praline. Being a wife and mom gives me an even greater appreciation for designing homes that are not only beautiful, but comfortable, functional, and filled with lasting memories.
