Luxury Boutique Closet in Buckhead

What was once an unused room adjacent to the primary closet was transformed into one of the home's most impactful spaces. Originally intended to serve as a study, the room offered tremendous potential but lacked a clear purpose. By reimagining it as an expansive custom dressing room, The Designery Atlanta was able to turn overlooked square footage into a destination within the home. The result is a space that feels more like a luxury boutique than a traditional walk-in closet. 

Every design decision contributed to the room's rich, moody atmosphere. A premium Casting at First Light textured wood finish establishes a warm, sophisticated foundation, while integrated lighting throughout the entire closet system creates a soft glow that makes the space feel both inviting and elevated. Glass-front cabinetry, illuminated shelving, and carefully selected gold accents bring attention to shoes, handbags, and wardrobe pieces in a way that feels curated rather than simply stored. The overall effect is refined, dramatic, and intentionally designed for both everyday function and visual impact. 

Beyond its striking appearance, the closet was thoughtfully designed to make the organization look and feel effortless. Slanted shoe shelving with upgraded gold shoe fences turns footwear into a display, while premium Tag Hardware pulls, hooks, and a built-in laundry pullout to ensure every detail serves a purpose. Rather than hiding everything behind closed doors, the design strikes a balance between beautifully showcasing favorite pieces and keeping everyday essentials organized. It's a space that feels polished, practical, and enjoyable to use from morning to night. 

For designer Julie, the grand reveal was the most rewarding moment of the entire project. Watching the lighting come to life and seeing how dramatically it transformed the room made the vision feel complete. The client especially loved the soft ambient lighting—so much so that it rarely gets turned off. More than just a place to store clothing, the finished closet has become an experience, bringing a sense of luxury and intention to an everyday routine.
